Coming from varied backgrounds, each one of the boat show team is uniquely talented and united in their passion for the event. We are all on-hand in the lead up to and, of course, during the boat show for any queries or requests from exhibitors. Just call, we’re all yours!
 
 
 
 
Jeni Bone has been in marine media for 10 years and is a veteran of that many Sanctuary Cove Boat Shows, as well as 12 years prior to that writing for news media, magazines, working in TV, advertising and broadcasting including the Sydney Olympic Games. Jeni is new to the team and as Media Liaison, she will be supplying story leads and keeping local and international media up to date on exhibitors’ news for 2012.

Sue Thomson has had an active career in the tourism industry having worked in executive roles for a marine tourism operator, Gold Coast Tourism and Tourism Australia. Sue has operated her own marketing and communications consultancy and worked with the Royal Queensland Show managing marketing and sponsorship programs. Sue was appointed as General Manager of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in November 2010.

Phil Shaw has been events & operations manager for 4 boat shows. He is the man with the walkie-talkie zipping around the boat show on a buggy to sort out exhibitor requests and the finer details. Prior to Sanctuary Cove, Phil worked at Riviera for 5 years and attended several boat shows each year with the company. He also worked for Marine Qld and loves everything about boats, boating and the marine industry.

Kiri Ngarotata has been in involved in the events industry for 11 years, and has recently joined the team as the Event and Operations Co-Coordinator.  For the previous seven years, Kiri was the National Events Manager at Flight Centre Limited, looking after the organisation of their annual exhibition program.  Prior to this she was the Customer Service Administrator at Moreton Hire which is where her experience in the industry began. 

Kara Roberts joined the team in June 2011 in a part-time position as Marketing Executive responsible for advertising and event marketing. Kara has over 15 years of marketing, business development and event management experience with companies as diverse as Clubcorp, Gold Coast Tourism and the Australian Government Attorney-General’s Department.

Barry Jenkins has been involved with the boat show since its inception, heading up operations for two decades. As well as lending his wisdom and industry insight to the team, Barry flies the flag for the event at international boat and trade shows, as well as working with AIMEX to raise the profile of Australian companies and networking opportunities during the boat show.

Harry Davis is the other boat show foundation team member, having worked on the event since its first edition, 24 years ago. Harry has a background in education and sail training and it’s his role to work with exhibitors on customising their display space, as well as handling the logistics of the show.

Shannon Brice has been with the boat show team for two years, managing exhibitor accounts and enquiries and will also manage the 2012 ‘Women on Water’ program.  Graduating from University in 2010, Shannon has come from a strong administration and accounts background, and has since developed her experience in volunteer management systems and event accreditation processes.
