Your Hummer awaits

In what is an Australian first, a fleet of Hummer Golf Buggies has arrived at Sanctuary Cove and have already generated their fair share of interest locally and around the country. The electric vehicles use the same scaled down body panels as the iconic American Hummer and is available in two models, the hard top and soft top.

Owner of Lifestyle Golf Cars, who is based at Sanctuary Cove and is the first company in Australia to stock the quirky and commanding vehicles. Owner, Chris Smale said the Hummers have generated an extraordinary amount of attention in the short time they have been in the country and are ideal for the “buggy culture” around the Village and residences.

“At Sanctuary Cove the humble golf cart has become an alternate mode of transport,” he said. “Residents who are coming into The Marine Village for lunch rarely bring the car as the buggy is easier to park, more social and of course cheaper to run.”

The vehicle can also be used on a golf course as the Hummers don’t place any extra pressure on the grass than a standard golf vehicle.According to Chris, the Hummer buggies have been extremely popular in areas of central London where they are allowed on the public roads that are designated 30mph zones.

“The unique vehicles also avoid the pollution tax as they are fully electric,” he said.
The scaled down Hummers will travel 100km on a 4 hour charge and the company has plans to offer a lithium battery option that will add approximately 50 per cent more distance. The vehicles also have an 'economy' button which will further increase the distance travelled per charge.

For around $18,000 you could be one of the first people in Australia to own one.
